Privacy policy

Rural DC Co Pty Ltd (ABN 59 702 790 056) respects the privacy of everyone we deal with, including landholders, investors, network operators, suppliers and people who use this website. This policy explains how we collect, use, hold and disclose personal information, consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

We collect only what we need to do our work. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include your name, organisation, role, email address, phone number and postal address; information about land you own or manage, such as title and property details; for investors, information needed to confirm that you are a wholesale or sophisticated investor and to meet our identification obligations; and records of our correspondence with you. We do not seek sensitive information, such as health information, and do not collect it unless you choose to provide it and it is needed.

How we collect it

Usually directly from you: when you email or call us, meet with us, or sign an agreement with us. Sometimes we collect it from public sources such as land title and company registers, or from people who introduce you to us, such as your advisers.

Why we use it

We use personal information to respond to enquiries; assess and develop sites; prepare and manage agreements with landholders, investors and partners; meet our legal, regulatory and reporting obligations; and keep you informed about projects you are involved in. We do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

We may share personal information with our professional advisers (such as lawyers, accountants and engineers), with service providers who host our email, files and website, and with prospective capital partners or purchasers of a project, under confidentiality obligations. We disclose information to government bodies or regulators only where the law requires it.

Information stored overseas

Some of our service providers, including email, file storage and website hosting, may store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers protect personal information to a standard consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Access is limited to those who need it, and confidential project information is shared only under confidentiality agreements. We destroy or anonymise personal information we no longer need.
